what a great first show i put together in pdx. We had fun oh boy!
Wyrd hut is a true gem!
Situated in southeast portland, next to a convenience store and coffee shops is an unassuming building full of possibilities and potential.
I brought my dj mixer and a cdj along with my current live hardware setup.
This was the first time i have played the Elektron Analog Rytm outside my house with intention. It was amazing to play everything through the big sound system, and through my dj mixer so i could bring elements in and out based on their frequencies.
Tatiana AKA Musique Mystique opened the show up with a super magical performance.
It started with a ball of yarn and prose that resonated with me heavily.
She played various instruments through effects and loops that took us all on a spiritual journey. Very good way to set the intention for the night.
I took the tiniest snippet of hippy paper before leaving the house and it kicked my ass.
I fought through it though, even as the chair i was sitting in broke.
I played a lot of slowed down dance music inbetween the sets. Rinsed a lot of new to me “bombachero”

A friend BB from germany happened to be in town and also had whole modular video setup on hand! Glory to the rave gods, they stepped in and provided visuals for a time. more visual work of BB aka p.r.j.n.s
I was setup so that i could do the door and dj at the same time, advanced techniques or just overextending myself?
Luckily bb and other friends handled the door all night for us.

Godzilla jr aka ben martens teamed up with an artist named teal to present a psychedelic alien surf rock session. It was the perfect ramp up of energy as more people came through the door. Pepper provided some chanting for bodhicitta which really held the whole thing together
Otto splotch is an old friend and current roomate. His project courtney doorhinge is amazing.
I was sad that todd aka soup purse had to cancel due to sickness, but glad that otto was willing to step in and provide a unique valentines day performance.
You gotta catch courtney doorhinge live sometime, i swear its so worth it.

Courtney presents a warped performance art with its own unique grotesque and neon themes.
This performance was a fucked up mixtape of love songs, with matching moves and props inflating deflating, moving, sweet light changes, etc.
The audience was captivated, phones out, absorbing the spectacle as much as they could.
To be honest i was tripping so hard it was almost difficult to look at otto.
His art is so psychedelic even when sober.

Swordswallower aka Pheobe (pictured below) was a wonderful performer i had never met before this show.
I am thankful that my friend theresa added her to the bill.
She played synths and sang heartfealt, relatable and even romantic synth pop songs.
Some of the couples and singles started to romantically dance. The image of this is burned into my head, a wonderful memory, our intentions unfolding in real time.
Lisa dank closed up the show with an amazing mix from the stage. She loaded and unloaded so much gear and helped everything go the right way. She specializes in the harder styles, and never dissapoints. This special valentines set was carefully crafted for maximum romance and BPM.
